There hasn't been to much publicity released in regards to the size of the systems. This is some of the verbiage from the DOE grant back in 2021:
"High Efficiency Continuous Graphitization Furnace Technology for Lithium-ion Battery Synthetic Graphite Material"
My understanding is that it is a number of smaller more controlled furnaces that run 24/7 and have a much quicker processing time compared to China's open pit furnace systems.
