You guys know I use Google Trends to study the growth of our secretive NVX. For the last 6 months, central Florida is been consistently among the top search requests for "Novonix." This is interesting to me because searching for "Novonix" is pretty specific in that the general public would likely use words like "microgrid, solar, Lennar solar, Emera, BlockEnergy" to describe what's going on in Florida. IMO, this is telling.
After doing this research, the immense scope of Emera's green energy initiatives (in Florida alone) are more clear. One could speculate: who's making the storage systems for the large-scale solar infrastructure there?
Is there something beyond smaller, BlockEnergy relationship that's not been disclosed? Is our investment and recent tie-up with KORE power have anything to do with Emera?
I have not been able to find any reference of the maker of the large scale batteries needed for the solar installations you'll see below.
Hmmm.
There's a cherry at the bottom. Here's what I've learned:
1. Emera Completes Sale of New England Gas-Fired Generation Facilities for $650M USD.
https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20190329005407/en/Emera-Completes-Sale-of-New-England-Gas-Fired-Generation-Facilities
2.In a recent interview with CEO, " We have 6.5 billion in capital to invest, and 70% of that will be the State of Florida. Investing in things like "green generation (ahem), managing costs for customers (AI-assisted Block energy?). Huge investments in 600 MW solar, conversion from coal to nat gas. He did NOT mentions the new microgrids, though one could presume the need for storage for 600 MW.

Googling further, I found this excerpt from a Seeking Alpha article last year. "By 2021, the company plans to add six million solar panels across ten new photovoltaic solar projects for a total generation capacity of 600 megawatts. When complete, solar will account for 14% of Tampa Electric's(TECO) energy generation, the most of any Florida utility. By 2023, Tampa Electric will have over 1,250 megawatts of solar across its system, compared to just four megawatts when Emera acquired TECO in 2016.

Tampa Electric, or TECO, has significant solar projects in the pipeline:
