In fact, the first EV was built in the 19th century, but didn't really go mainstream before the Covid era political clown show and money burning. There is a reason why it didn't go mainstream and probably also why it shouldn't go. Digging costly and toxic chemicals for the batteries and then charging that battery with energy that is even worse than petrol is simply idiotic.
