I think their potential profits dwarf their brokerage costs.
I don't short stocks for a variety of reasons, but shorters have made me a lot of money. Right now these guys are doing all the heavy lifting for anybody who wants to top up at bargain basement prices. Any investor (not trader) who truly understands what Novonix is set to achieve is going to hold onto their shares for dear life for years, so what the SP does over the next month, or even the next year, is practically irrelevant.
I know it can hurt when you have a red day because of those types, but long term holders will have the last laugh
