Interesting take @Maximus23. I wouldn't have thought that legislation which incentivises companies mining, processing and manufacturing in the US (and free trade partners) instead of China was in China's best interests, but hey, I didn't believe Covid was invented by Bill Gates til I saw the proof on my dad's facebook feed.
Well said @Sy8. I'd much prefer they did exactly as you suggest rather than pushing the deadline out another 9-12 months. At a point they just need to rip the band aid off. The US is ground zero for innovation, just set the goal posts up and explain the rules clearly. They can use the tariff income for other positive programs too - hell, funnel it back into the BIL/IRA efforts.
