Indian Govt plans to get 1000 EV's for Ministers. The tender is part of the govt plan to promote EV's in india.
Come November, Union ministers and senior bureaucrats would be moving around in electric sedans as the the world's third-largest oil guzzler has decided to join the electric vehicle (EV) covenant by floating global bids for 10,000 battery-powered cars along with 4,000 charging stations in the NCR.

Indian government is already in talks with SoftBank for low-interest funding of about two lakh (200k) electric buses to be deployed in public transport. As a part of the Maharashtra (state) deal, e-cabs, e-buses, e-rickshaws, and e-autos will all be brought on one platform.
