Speculation surrounding the concentrator is really an inane discussion. Why not focus on the Research and Development rebates from the Australian Tax Office?
IMHO this is a big tick for BSX. The government has essentially accredited the metallurgical technology that BSX has developed by kicking back AUD $3.8 million as recognition for their innovative and cutting- edge approach to green nickel production.
The announcement reads:The funds[AU$ 3.8 million], as part of the ATO’sresearch & development (“R&D”) tax incentive program, were approved inrecognition of technical advancements made by Blackstone in the financial yearended 30 June 2022. The R&D claim reflects the significant investment byBlackstone to develop the Ta Khoa Refinery process. The ATO has recognizedBlackstone’s unique strategy to convert nickel concentrate blends into batteryproducts in the form of precursor cathode active material (“pCAM”). Themajority of Blackstone’s investment was directed to process development andpiloting programs.
Money well spent, and this spending has been recognized by the ATO with a substantial kickback.
