Admittedly, $12,000 was flagged by SW some time ago (about 2 years). So add something for inflation. Let's say US$2,000 at a guess.

So taking 1 tonne of nickel from the mine and refining it will cost (estimate only) US$14,000.

The current nickel price per tonne is around US$17,000.

That looks like a profit to me before it even gets to the refinery.

To be clear, that looks like a profit before the refined nickel is manufactured into 811 precursor.
