Given the above statement from Ecopro and the fact we have yet to find a partner willing to invest in building our proposed cathode precursor refinery, it might even be prudent to at least consider building an electric smelter at Ta Khao which would both retain both our green credentials and cost of production advantage over Indonesian nickel given they don't have the benefit of cheap hydro power or access to nickel sulphides. This would also satisfy the Vietnamese Government's desire for downstream processing of minerals in country and remove the tax penalty applied to the export of concentrate. The previous owners of Ta Khao, AMR, were planning on building a smelter ten years or so ago for around $20m from memory. To be clear I would much prefer to see the cathode precursor refinery built than a smelter, but at what stage do we pursue the practical, or achievable, over the perfect and has it been considered by the Board as an option or discussed with our shareholder Ecopro?
