Great find! That's a huge $34b deal to supply NCA cathodes however and while BSX has allowed for tweaking in the chemistry of its battery precursor to allow for changing customer requirements.I was under the impression it will always be NCM and only ratios might change, I'm unsure if the refinery design would allow for aluminium to be added to the mix. It would be great if a chemist or someone with knowledge on that could add some details.
That said, regardless of cathode chemistry this deal with Samsung SDI ties up their existing supplies of nickel and cobalt sulphates and they will need to source more.
