agreed, I don't think those timings are random at all.
In 2020 the Diggers+Dealers award for dealer of the year was shared for the merger of Saracen and Northern Star.
(Incidentally RMS were Diggers of that year)
Anyway, Richard Hyde (WAF) agreed, on the day of the announcement, a timing move to allow Saracen and Northern Star's Bill Beament to present consecutively. It was an immensely back slapping mega merger celebration. Coincidentally Richard Hyde collected Digger of the year for WAF at the following conference 2021.
Maybe Cannacord are just planning ahead?
