Except Joel - convenient conduit to market conniptions aside, how the hell is the job situation in developed countries seizing on AI now and in future for most of the intellectual ‘grunt work’ and robots and other automation for as much else as they can (a la Amazon warehouses and near fully automated mining and processing developments) ever going to improve ?
Especially when populations increase?
I remember NRW CEO, Jules Pemberton, making a wry comment in post-Covid labour shortage days that potential workers preferred to sit at home gaming their days away.
And now the West reported the other day that at least 8,000 humans are out of work this year due to closures in nickel, lithium and other sectors …
When those companies get going again I bet they never re-employ the ‘8,000’.
The market squalls and does its hiccups based on non farm payroll figures and whatever other prop the biggest of the BEOTs and then media can seize on but I reckon the bigger picture must include greater and greater human unemployment
