I think the precendent that has been set, makes it reasonable that policy holders are entitled to shares in Medibank private. As already noted, the business would not operate for the fact that customers (including myself), have put up with high premiums from Medibank private where their competitors were much cheaper. I assumed that consistency would prevail when the day came for the Government to offload, and I would be appropriately compensated for my patience, like other policy holders in other demutualised health providers. Comparing shopping at woollies or putting your money in Comm bank and expecting shares, seems like a rather ridicilous analogy to me.
