You can already buy Medibank policies online so I don't get why Medibank like having retail shops. Maybe Medibank have a less tech savvy client base who are not comfortable buying policies online hence needing shops to keep their older customer base happy. IMO with their market share there in a good place as you say to mop up their competitors however is the current CEO up for the task to take a broom to unproductive areas of the business and bring the business model into the 21st century.
