This is an interesting dispute. Who will be the winner!
Calvary Private Hospitals are in:
* Canberra
* Adelaide
* Wagga Wagga
* Tasmania
Adelaide hospitals would already be lower paid than rest of Australia. Calvary will need to dig in to provide quality hospital services in Adelaide.
Where are Medibank patients going to go in Wagga, is George going to pay for their travel to Sydney, to higher priced hospitals? Can go to Canberra for the Healthscope Hospital, oh dear can not go to Calvary John James!
One thing Medibank forgets to tell shareholders any savings they make on rate will share with industry through risk equalisation.
Seems opportunistic media stunt by Medibank to show power.
In Medibank's defense Calvary do have some dinosaurs at the top level of management.
I do not see much value in this dispute for shareholders. However if I was a policy holder in Adelaide, Canberra, Wagga and Tasmania I would leave Medibank.
