The black market will be alive regardless of if the pill is 10cents or $100 each. The only way to lift the black market, is not through medicinal legalisation, but allowing drugs to be sold much like alcohol, and tax it.
I find it hilarious when I ask the chemist for a packet of Nurofen Plus, and they get this horrified look on their face, like I just killed someone and admitted guilt. Meanwhile, the bottle shop next door has buy 1 get 1 free for blue label Vodka, and people order drugs to their doorstep through darknet markets.
As a shareholder, however, prohibition suits us. As it ensures weed is kept as medication and thus controlled by the doctors pen, which means less competition, higher prices, and a virtual monopoly by pharma. Great for us as SH. Sucks for us as human beings.
