Mongy, not sure where you got your info from, but the Gov't reimburses MRI's at circa $400, CT's $250 and x-ray circa $60. You should put it all in context. The MBS (price the gov't pays per item) has not changed in 15 years for radiology, while at the same time the Gov't allows private insurance to increase their fees by circa 6%. p.a. MRI was a new initiative supported by both sides of politics, believe it or not it actually saves money, because it replaces tests that where inadequate.
