I agree Zazoore. I have been horrified that strong anti-psychotics such as Seroquel are sometimes given for sleep. They seem to tranquilise so many of the brain receptors and can be a nightmare to discontinue.
They are approved for bipolar and schizophrenia and they should not be used for off-label use such as for insomnia, imo.
I was once given endep (an antidepressant) for sleep during a stressful time - not for depression. It left me foggy through the day, raised the heart rate which necessitated a beta blocker.
Off the stuff now - but with a lot of nasty withdrawal symptoms. It seems we need to google before getting scripts filled to ensure we are not being given something off-label that might eventually do us more harm than good.
