Neon Energy to divulge production tests from offshore well in Vietnam

Neon requested the halt pending an announcement regarding the results of production testing at the Cua Lo exploration well, offshore Vietnam.
Neon Energy (ASX: NEN) is in pre-open this morning following the ASX granting the company a trading halt.

Neon requested the halt pending an announcement regarding the results of production testing at the Cua Lo exploration well, offshore Vietnam.

The company provided an update on the Ca Ngu-1 exploration well at the end of 2013, where drilling had reached Total Depth at 1,290 metres, having drilled through the Pliocene reservoir objectives and some 115 metres in to the Miocene carbonate objective.

At the time Neon said that analysis of wireline log data confirms the presence of gas within a number of Pliocene sandstone reservoirs, and the discovery of gas and oil within the Miocene carbonate reservoir.

Based on early interpretation of the wireline data the Miocene hydrocarbon column appears to consist of a 10 metre gas column overlying a 5 metre oil column.

The halt will remain in place until the opening of trade on Monday 13th January, or earlier if an announcement is made to the market.
