    New Caledonia elected its first pro-independence president in July this year for a 5 year term, named Louie Mapou.
    He has a long history of board appointments/directorships in the nickel industry there, including an appointment with Eramet SLN (who QPM currently have an MOU with for ore supply).
    Would be fair to say he understands how critical nickel is to the economy there, which seems to minimise any political risk, assuming the people continue to support him during his tenure.
