I'm still in the early stages of research. The houses I was thinking of are kit houses. I live in regional WA myself and I have seen many kit homes. There are several in the Wheat Belt as well. I know they are cheaper than building. As you said you would never build in Meeka.
I'm used to paying Regional WA prices for everything from petrol, booze, food, medical and vehicle services etc. Couldn't imagine the cost of building as well.
