A GROUP of rebel Regis Resources shareholders have pulled off a coup to oust the company's board at a meeting in Melbourne.
The extraordinary meeting, called by a group of shareholders unhappy with Regis management, voted to elect former Equigold board members Mark Clark, Nick Giorgetta and Morgan Hart to the Regis board.
The three newly elected board members were among the dissident shareholders, known as the Associated Group, and had earlier said they were unhappy with the performance of the existing Regis board.
Associated Group members were each elected to the board with overwhelming support today.
Following the vote, existing Regis director Paul Dowd and chairman Jeffrey Lucy both resigned.
Managing director David Walker was voted out.
It is likely that Mr Walker will also be forced out, with pre-meeting votes heavily supportive of the move.
