Correct QGC's two main water treatment plants are owned:

- Kenya Water Treatment Plant (commissioned Oct 2013, 95,000 to 100,000 cu meters a day)
- Northern Water Treatment Plant (commissioned May 2015, 100,000 to 120,000 cu meters a day)

EPC Contractors - GE and Laing O'Rourke

Design - Hyder (Arcadis)

Brine Concentrators - NDA Engineering

Water Treatment Technology - GE Water Technologies (at the time), multi stage process involving MF, UF, ion exchange and RO (97% of water recovered). Brine concentrator and storage. It should be pointed out that in September 2017 GE sold its Water and Process Technologies Business to SUEZ for $3.4B, so after the recent merger with Veolia, Veolia will be the technology provider for QGC not just the O&M contractor.


And a third , much much smaller and designed to be relocated and to work alongside KWTP. I assume this is in operation still?

Windibri Treatment Plant (Commissioned mid 2013, 6,000 cu meters a day)

Contractors - Process Flow NZ (lead designer) and Osmoflo

Technology - Osmoflo membrane filtration, ion exchange and RO.







In terms of another potential suitor for the PPT business, much smaller than Worley, maybe a friendly deal with Hitachi Zosen, the owner of Osmoflo, whose "brine squeezer" is in operation with Santos. Or even one of the big oilfield service companies who are now leveraging their core competence and expertise from their traditional oil and gas markets to develop technology and solutions to support the new lithiium and hydrogen industries, in addition to water solutions.
