The Port of Quebec is the last deep water port in the St Lawrence Seaway.
It has a depth of 15 metres at low tide allowing access to cape size vessels.
Cape size vessels are too big to traverse the Panama Canal, the shortest route to Eastern Asia.
Sayona has a $43 million rail contract to transport concentrate from La Corne to Trois-Rivières (which is inland from the P of Q by about 130 km, in water too shallow to handle cape size vessels).
Are we to deduce that Sayona concentrate sent to Trois-Rivières will be despatched to Eastern Asia on ships that can traverse the Panama Canal and that concentrate sent to P of Q will be despatched on bigger ships to Western Europe?
I am thinking this is what SB was alluding to in his cryptic clues.
