Have you backtested it on various indices? The tendency is to look for what's working now and then think it will continue into the future. So you've got to ruthlessly backtest. Also, EMA's tend to bend on the last candle, so it's not as easy as it looks historically.
Also, what's your entry criteria? Just wait for a trend to appear or a break out?
