Volkswagen| Sustainable plant for electric vehicles

Volkswagenis gradually increasing production capacity for the construction of electriccars. Currently, the largest and most powerful electric car plant of the groupis being built in Zwickau, in which up to 330,000 units will roll off theproduction line each year. In a first stage, the production of the ID starts inNovember 2019, then the first of two production lines will be rebuilt. Thesecond line follows the same pattern until the end of 2020. According to VW,the ID is the first vehicle to be carbon-neutral in the balance sheet acrossthe entire supply and production chain. And that, even though theenergy-intensive production of battery cells will take place in the Saxonfactory. In the final stage of completion, six models with electric drive willbe manufactured in Zwickau from 2021 by three Group brands.
