I like to delve in to the background of the senior managers of any company I am researching. A few years ago I attended a brilliant presentation by a new IPO. But some digging revealed that the MD had been bankrupted about 20 years earlier. I resisted the temptation to buy. A friend invested about $300,000.
The company listed and within a few months had failed utterly, it sank with all hands. The accountant who hosted the presentation took on some water too. A lesson well learned.
I have not been able to dig up one scintilla of such bad news relating to any of the DigitalBTC Board.
Which is why I am so impressed with the guys at the helm of DigitalBTC.

They are a good mixture, with very diverse talents.
1. A computer nut
2. A successful marketing guru
3. A smart lawyer familiar with regulation
4. A smart investor manager, who managed $20 million for an energy and metals firm and returned more than 60% in annualized profit.
5. A board member with JP Morgan and HSBC experience.
The CEO's CV includes managing the successful Bloomberg-for-Mayor campaign.
Karis marketing record includes;
• 2004- KMG developed a new client acquisition sales campaign for Santana Energy Services and grew its customer base by 175,000 new customers.
• 2005 – KMG developed Fidelity Debt Services campaign. In month one of its launch it started with zero revenue, and grew it to $11 million within ten months, surpassing client expectations by 600%.
• 2007 – KMG managed Michael Bloomberg for Mayor campaign. Mayor Bloomberg won.
• 2010 – KMG developed and managed content for all major US mobile carriers and created in excess of $75 million in NEW retail revenue for the carriers.
• 2012- KMG provided more than 200,000 polling hours during the 2012 USA Presidential elections.
• 2013- KMG is one of the largest Service Providers for AT&T creating more than $100 million of retail revenue over a 12 month period. AT&T is a giant company.
I like to invest in success stories, with provable records, not just good ideas that go nowhere, like my lead-in paragraph.
None of these guys are failures. You can bet that they have had a few false starts, and have the experience to deal with unexpected events.
