Possibly in MEL's thinking when they determined the level of oversubscription , there was the opportunity to raise more capital.
Maybe they were talking to MAY to ease the way for MAY to quit their MEL holding in a way that everyone was happy with.
MEL seems to have had a pragmatic and business like attitude to the whole Saga.
