I recall a Monash University study that was done in the late 1980’s or early nineties that stated that Melbourne could only sustain a population of 250,000 and that increasing the population above this figure would seriously impact on the environment. Well, a concrete jungle has emerged and the standard of living is very low but people are used to it and think it’s normal.
