With approximately 2.5 people per household are you suggesting this shortage is the cause of 450,000 homeless currently with nowhere to live.
The shortage is a myth.
We have 10% empty homes in Australia (mainly second/holiday homes), a very low number of people per household compared to 10, 20, 30 years ago and an an increasing number of bedrooms....we have plenty of homes for people to live in if there was a real shortage.
The only shortage we've had has been demand vs supply over the last 3 years or so, but anyone looking over the figures prior to these years would note we have been overbuilding for sometime (check link in my signature).
