Almost three months of frenzied selling came to a big bang finale on Saturday, and analysts are now warning of slowing house price growth and lower auction clearances.
“Many properties didn’t sell this weekend and nobody was getting carried away,” he said, adding many properties had only two bidders. “This wasn’t the case three or four weeks ago when people were citing levels in the 70s and 80s. We are not seeing the signs of a winter kick-on at this stage and a lot of would-be buyers and sellers are now waiting until spring.”
