Anyone want to put any bets on for the Quarterly ABS House Price Indexes due on Melbourne Cup Day?
APM has released stats showing a 1.6% fall in the September quarter for house prices.
Black Dragon has commented on the APM figures :
"Actually, its the ABS numbers that should be most interesting for the Sept Qtr as, up until now, they seem to have lagged behind the two other reporting bodies. Given the close resemblence of their stratified series to the APM model, we should be seeing the ABS record a fairly large fall in results when they next report. Such a fall will likely get some considerable media attention."
Jun-2011 Quarter showed prices down 0.1% for the weighted average of eight capital cities. Mar-2011 was 1.7%
