A fair few losers along the journey but I have backed the following Melbourne Cup winners; 1969 - Rain Lover (25 cents each way - I was 7) 1976 - Van Der Hum 1988 - Empire Rose 1991 - Let's Elope 1994 - Jeune (20-1) 1997 - Might & Power (backed him in the Caul Cup as well) 2007 - Efficient (16-1) 2009 - Shocking (25-1 pre-post) 2011 - Just missed with Red Cadeaux at 66-1 (ouch!)
Saddest memory was watching Dulcify breakdown and most touching moment was watching D.Oliver won on Media Puzzle. I also saw Damian and Jason ride their first metro winners in Perth. Good luck to all in the first Tuesday in November.
