In another post I said that it was a lottery of a race and that it was not a serious betting proposition anymore. The invaders not having started here aggravated that situation. I read in today's Syd Morning Herald that the TABCORP turnover for the race was down 5% on last year, and I think I know why; and it comes as no surprise to me at all.
Unless they get more horses in the race that have an Australasian connection (and not Lloyd ) then the race will continue to lose its betting appeal.
