Yes but this is over 100 years.
Over 100 years the Australian stock market always goes up as well.
The reason why BOTH property AND shares are seen as appreciating assets is because they go up over long time periods.
However over shorter time periods, they can both fall.
Most people posting on this forum don't expect to live for another 100 years and are looking to realise a profit within their lifetime. (And a profit significantly above inflation)
