The universal characteristics of the utopians is their unquenchable thirst for power. That is, of course, apart from their universal incompetence.

There are thousands of utopian books out there. Each one has a plan.

When it comes to practice they wreck everything they touch.

The utopians in practice are transformed into crass dictators as their utopian plans, that worked perfectly in a book, fail to stop the impoverishment of the nation. This puts their monopoly on power at risk.

So much so that they eventually have to purge everyone who dares to speak about the dictator's incompetence.

Venezuela is a classic. The utopians worshipped the dictator Chavez and his successor.

As for islamic dictatorships. Melbourne utopians must be eyeing off the anti female policies that allow 9 year old wives, wife beatings and the education ban on females. But the cherry on top is to gain power which, in their pathetic minds, will elevate an otherwise run of the mill utopian above everyone else.
