This collaboration/research hub ( including Australia’s Murdoch Children’s Research Institute ) is funded through a large grant over 10 years from the Novo Nordisk Foundation. This philanthropic foundation seems separate from Novo Nordisk the international pharmaceutical company with headquarters in Denmark (which products in the areas of diabetes etc); however I wonder if the possible link between the Novo Nordisk Foundation and Novo Nordisk the pharmaceutical company would give Novo Nordisk a legs up in terms of potential products to be commercialised out of the hubs research success. Just asking the question, I don't know the answer.
