I've got an idea - we can all grab a hysteria pedalling greenie and strap him to a post, dip him in sump oil and light the wick . . . . . should make great street lights, but we might choke on all the CO, C02, smoke and particulate matter if we need a light inside. . . . . . . . . .LOL

In all seriousness, while nuclear has it's risks, the existing base load of 65GW of operating or under construction power plants in Japan can not and arguably will not be replaced with coal fired, wind, solar, hydro, geothermal and other means of generation. And then there is the huge number of reactors world wide.

The nuclear industry has many lessons to learn from this, but will continue. No doubt new and existing reactors will have further more robust safety systems added and/or retrofitted.

Hurting here too, but still well ahead, and far better off than those in Japan.

Given today's developments, it may take some time for the SP to return to where we were last week, however I have no doubt there will be a bounce once some sensibility comes back into the market and the mass media hysteria moves on to the next big thing; and when it does bounce, it will not be "a dead cat bounce".
