The whole message is past tense, out of AND then, washed, 'AND" made white, results of washing them, Blood of the Lamb -> word of God.
Hence put on the word of God, white robes.

What your suggesting, from what I am seeing is,.............they went through the Tribulation to wash, or it causing their robes to be washed.
I'm am not seeing it as, they came out because they were already washed, meaning, carrying the truth through it.
    (Could be wrong?)

    Definition:
    to whiten, to make white
Usage: I whiten, make white. The whole message is past tense, came out washed , making them white, results of washing them.

As for editing, it was from the Interlinear

    Definition: to wash
    Usage: I wash.

6:11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.
