I see this thread's been resurrected! Taurisk - your summary is a good one. Having children turns the stay at home parent's life upside down, especially when grandparents are scarce! Started to write a few stories, but not much point really.
Insider - you are correct about relationships being about compromise. However everyone has a different threshold of tolerance - for innumerable reasons, so if someone choses to remain single, then that may be what works best for them. There are many single people who've been burnt and protect themselves in this way. Others have discovered that their lives are complete without a partner - that doesn't mean they play the field either.
Tallamantin - I must have missed your pic for me earlier. I like it - it is very me actually - well, maybe a couple of decades ago LOL!
