Everyone with an autistic child is hoping and praying for reliable medicines that will improve their quality of lives. I know this as I have an autistic child and I hold out hope that in the next 5-10 years such a drug will come along, but until that time there is NOTHING a doctor can prescribe that will help. When such a drug does come along, it will be expensive - $60,000 - to $120,000 per year for many years until it comes off patent. Of course, governments will cover most of the cost but I imagine the parents of some countries will be up for $2-5k per year.
So, while we await for these miracle drugs to appear on the radar, what are we left with? Neurotech's technology offers hope, backed by science. I think plenty will take this up.
