"China is buying as much as she can get her hands on using various ways: direct takeover (MIS), mineral rights purchase(CFE), Joint venture (numerous), long term contracts (WPL), equity participation, etc, etc. Plenty of rumours about China making a tilt for either BHP and/or RIO. That would have sent shock waves through to Korea and Japan.

Koreans and Japanese are pretty big on manufacturing and rely on raw materials as well. They can't sit idly by and find out in 5 years time they can't source anything from Australia. Koreans and Japanese are on the defensive. POSCO into SFR, now Japs into MCR and numerous others.

Just watch this sector, Koreans and Japanese will be getting more and more into JV and equity participation.

Geogina Basin is an important mineral play ground. MCR is holding a sizeable exploration area in this basin.

I think the Japs came knocking on MCR door."

Even though I've been have a bit of a whinge about my entry price after looking to make a quick buck out of URM (and will probably continue to do so!), based on the ground they hold they do look a great prospect especially if more foreign investment in the Geogina Basin begins flooding in.
