    I reckon that the B Class was a bit of a bridge vehicle . So it was always going to be a compromise and probably not a very good one .
    But , it used Tesla components so it gave MB a look at what Tesla was doing , provided a platform for R & D and I guess gave their customers something to look at if they were interested .

    What they probably didn't realise ( neither did anyone else ) was the pace of the EV market and the success of Tesla . Particularly the S model eating in to the luxury car market .
    Things are happening that fast , including at MB , that continuing to sell a somewhat naff EV is probably a waste of time and money .

    MB has made a big commitment to EV's and previously made some pretty dramatic claims of range and charging times . I guess they've decided to get on with it .
