We wont be doing a poly trial in the main trial imo it will be one of these PIs w/wo interferon and with Ribavirin .

See how the treatment is now " response guided " ... this shows how the drugs are narrowing down the time frame . Part of why BIT225 did only 28 days imo .

The toxicity of all the SOC remains an issue . MM will be sure to take the less toxic path in the next main trial . The debate is which one ?

There is a greater choice in the other trials and that is where the important decisions will come from in regard to a partner . The new partner must be into HIV as we will eventually be trialling with and without all sorts there too , targeting BOTH virii together and separate . Also a good pipeline of new polys in their mix . All the big boys fit and a couple of smaller ones too . Interesting .

IMO we absolutely need a partner and their money to get going ASAP . It has to happen within short months or why bother fast tracking etc.........

It doesn't necessarily follow that if we trial with Merck's drug that we then partner them either . Some research will tell you that there is any number of big and small co.s trialling heaps of combinations together .

I keep coming back to the toxicity of the SOC and that there is a shipload of room for improvement . This will guide the decisions of the future .
