I disagree, look like coal companies they are doing exceptionally well
our oil industry is general is going counter cyclical with growth projects, the doubt is not from ESG. But it’s a question if those projects will deliver the same return in 5 years time. No one knows and hence it’s marked down as a significant risk
but doing nothing is not a solution either.
anyway, these reason and debates are philosophical in nature.
end of the day, you play the cards you are dealt and the merger with BHP is the best one available on many fronts.
