IMO the joint venture is a winner. Take into account that the jv is only 12 months old, with planned ~$2 billion of synergies to be completed in another 12 months - this will certainly help anyone's bottom line. Vodafone wouldn't have joined alliances with Hutch without doing their due diligence!!!! I wouldn't be surprised if at some point Vodafone would take on more than the 50% interest in the jv - who knows???
Be mindful though that ATM the stock is quite illiquid, but it does seem to have found a bottom around these prices. I firmly believe that this is a sleeping giant, but ATM its a bottom drawer stock.
