Moony I have spent months at a time in SE Asia living with the locals. Went six weeks once without seeing another westerner.
What you are posting is simply not true in my experience. Maybe it is just you they don't like?
That said Asia is a big place and I know there are areas we are not liked, even dangerous for us to go.
But broadly speaking Australians are well regarded IMO.
