Worker strike is usually considered "bad news". Please notice that the official announcement is made after the close of the share market. Possibly, there will be a dip in share price on Monday.
Putting aside the short term impact. The acquisition of Jaya gives MMA an edge as to how much its labour forces could come from foreign countries, such as Singapore and other parts of Asia, because all Jaya operational businesses are in Asia (not Australia) and they probably hire local workers there.
Somehow, the acquisition of Jaya starts to seem more logical and make sense in the way that MMA has a broad resources of labour forces, technical support and exposure to foreign business, while taking in the advantages of owning "Singapore-based business", in which a much lower corporate tax rate and more freedom(less restriction) on the operation of business applies.
