When he goes, which I reckon will be soon, it will be you that will have to deal with the loss, as you are obviously very emotionally attached to him and you MUST sell if he is not CEO.
He's human. He's old. In 2018 he spoke of handing over to younger people. He's 7-8 years older now. He currently has NO succession plan - which is part of his job (as noted above, he's human).
Prepare yourself to mourn.
