Mark Thompson, a man of vision and might,
With a heart for the earth, and a mind sharp and bright,
He sought a solution to the world's dire plight,
And found it in a mine, dark as the night.

With graphite as his weapon, Mark would fight,
To save the planet, and make things right,
For he knew that coal was a blight,
And oil would never take flight.

So he set out to mine, with all his might,
To bring the world into the light,
With his pencil-thin mineral, shining and bright,
Mark would enable a transition, that felt just right.

The skeptics, they scoffed, and said it's not right,
To dig up the earth, for energy's might,
But Mark knew he had the answer, and he would not take flight,
For he was committed to the cause, with all his might.

And so, he dug and dug, day and night,
Till he struck gold, and his heart took flight,
For he knew that graphite was the key to the fight,
Against climate change, that threatened with all its might.

Now, the world looks up to Mark with delight,
As he charts a path to a future bright,
With a graphite mine that's a beacon of light,
For the greener future, that's now in sight.
